Albright Fashion Professor Works On Major Film

"I Heard the Bells" grossed $2.77 million at the box office over its four-day debut beginning Dec. 1

Reading, PA (12/15/2022) — Albright College Professor of Fashion, Paula Trimpey, M.F.A., of Reading, Pa., worked as a tailor/stitcher on the recently released major motion picture, "I Heard the Bells." Trimpey also made an appearance in the film. Currently in theatres, the film is about the inspiring true story behind the beloved Christmas carol and its author, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

In addition to her work at several universities, Trimpey has designed and served as Costume Director at the Tuacahn Fine and Performing Arts Center (Utah), worked with touring Broadway shows through Troika Entertainment, and designed shows and held various other positions for 33 years with the Tony award-winning Utah Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City.

In the fashion industry, Paula has worked with contractors in manufacturing of clothing for OshKosh B'gosh, Izod Lacoste, Lane Bryant, Bobbi Gayle, Speedo Sportswear, and American Vogue Designer and Albert Nipon.

In addition to her teaching responsibilities at Albright College, Trimpey designs costumes and manages the Theatre Department's costume studio. Her primary focus lies in costume technology, which includes period patternmaking and draping, tailoring, period clothing construction, corsetry and applied design. She encourages students to complete independent research in period clothing construction and has provided annual workshops in Victorian and Renaissance corset making.
